June Mid-Month Check In

The thing about working on big projects is that for a long time it feels like there is nothing new or exciting to report.  So goes my June...

The only thing new on my needles is a pair of socks from my hand-dyed hand-spun Shropshire.  This  lives in my purse as my on-the-go knitting.

I'm making good progress on my Festive Yoke sweater now that I've finished everything else.  I have a few more inches on the body and then I can move on to the sleeves.  I am able to get in at least some knitting most nights before bed, and as long as I keep doing that I think I will be able to finish it up before we leave on vacation later this summer.

Spinning feels the same- big projects where I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, but still plenty to do.

My Flatiron project remains my Gulf Coast Native fleece.  I 'm currently spinning bobbin #5 and all the remaining fleece is now in rolag form.  I'm optimistic I can finish this up by the end of the month.

I'm on my 4th bobbin of Corriedale on the Kiwi.  I've reached a point where I comb up some nests, spin them, then comb up some more.  I expect that I will be working on this for the rest of the summer.  I'm taking a break from it for Tour de Fleece though.
